Debby Mylar
Executive Director, Biblical Counselor
Debby became an ACBC certified counselor in 2010 and completed her Master’s degree from Westminster Theological Seminary in 2020. In 2018, she took specific training in counseling abusive and oppressive marriages and relationships. Since that time, a fair amount of her case load has consisted of walking alongside those who are in these situations. She, along with Morgan and Beth, have been leading a faith based support group since October, 2019 where they have had the privilege of seeing the gospel meet needs of the women to whom we minister and counsel.
Beth Salter
Board Secretary, Biblical Counselor
Beth serves as Secretary of our Board of Directors and is a founding member of Beauty from Ashes. She is a survivor of domestic violence, which has given her a heart for women in similar situations. She has been happily married for the last 24 years and completed a Master’s Degree in Biblical Counseling through Westminster Theological Seminary in 2023. Beth believes that the Lord has called and uniquely equipped her to minister to women in oppressive/abusive marriages.
Morgan Warlick
Board Vice-chair, Advocate
Morgan serves as Vice-chair of our Board of Directors and is a founding member of Beauty from Ashes. A survivor of domestic violence, she is grateful that the Lord continually redeems that experience, using it to open doors for her to walk alongside other Survivors with compassion and empathy. She is now happily married, working as a Graphic Designer while pursuing a Biblical Counseling certificate with the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation.
Jill Johnson
Board Chair + Treasurer
Jill and her husband Greg live in Utah and have four children and a son-in-law. She and Greg are the co-founders of Standing Together Ministries in Utah. Along with the work of the ministry, Jill also works as a paralegal and writes Bible studies. In addition, she is an abuse survivor.
Bryant Strain
Board Member, Associate Pastor of Evangelical Free Church of Salt Lake City
Bryant is an Associate Pastor at Evangelical Free Church of Salt Lake City and has completed a bachelor’s degree at the University of Utah and an M.Div at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He grew up between Utah & Idaho and is married with two sons. He loves Jesus, the local church, his family, and pointing others to have a relationship with Jesus.
Frank Mylar
Board Member, Attorney
Frank Mylar has been practicing law and involved with Law Enforcement for over 30 years. He began his career as a criminal and civil prosecutor in the Utah State Attorney General’s Office. He further served one year in a Peace Officer position with the Department of Corrections in 1996. Frank ran for state Attorney General in 2000 and afterward started what became Mylar Law. Over the years Mylar Law it has grown to include many specialty areas, including Constitutional Law, Family Law, Business Law, Civil Rights Law, and many other areas of trial and appellate practice.

Beverly Verano, Esq.
Board Member
Beverly was elected to the Board of Directors in August 2023; she has a heart for survivors of domestic abuse and is thankful for the opportunity to be part of this ministry. She also serves as an advocate for survivors and has seen firsthand how the Lord is answering prayers in the lives of these survivors and their families. Beverly and her husband, Buzz, live in Park City and are members of the Evangelical Free Church of Salt Lake City. They have two married daughters and two grandchildren.
Beverly practiced law in California as an estate planning attorney and previously practiced as a CPA. She is looking forward to spending more time in the Beauty from Ashes ministry as she moves to retirement from her law practice.
Julissa McCoy
Marketing Assistant
Julissa is an alumna of Baylor University where she double majored in Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation & International Business. With 2+ years of marketing experience, she is passionate about bridging the communication divide between organizations and the general public through corporate storytelling. She believes in the power of the Lord’s divine ability to redeem and equip His children for the advancement of the Kingdom.
Gina Ogden
Administrative Assistant
Gina has a degree in Biblical Counseling and has worked with many Survivors, mostly children. She also has experience in coalition building, grant writing, and grant administration. Gina enjoys bringing people together to work toward a common goal, developing strategy for people-serving organizations, and serving the community in a meaningful way.
Mandy Begg
Biblical Counselor
Mandy has a Masters Degree in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary, and has been certified as a biblical counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors since 2013. She works primarily with teens, young adults and women of all ages. Mandy lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with her husband and children.
